QUIET PLEASE

We were at a party today...........our party, yes puppies do have parties !!

ARINE'S LITTER, YES LITTLE WINK IS THERE

ECLAT'S LITTER
The sun came out and cleared away the heavy frost from the night before and the puppies were ready to meet all their visitors. The parents had to pry the children away when it was time to go, but the next time they come to Brighthope, they get to take a puppy home. Which one will it be....
We brought all the puppies back inside when everyone left and not even the flash of the camera could bring them out of their slumber.  SSHHHHH !
Dave and I both agreed, we get to meet some really great people because of our Blue Picardy Spaniels.

EARLY MORNING AT BRIGHTHOPE

Grandchildren and puppies are a perfect combination. Eclat's litter was ready for breakfast and  after their tummies were full it was playtime. What a great time we had with grandchildren still in pajamas and messy hair after a good nights sleep we headed to the kennel room for a romp with the puppies.

GROWING AND GOING

The puppies are growing and the washing machine is going and going and going......Ok I will admit two litters at the same time is a lot of work. Eleven sets of toenails to clip takes time, I can do each litter on a different day though. Eclat's puppies have started on goats milk and pablum and lick the bowl clean each time. They were out exploring the family room today and now are fast asleep all tired out from their venture. Arine's litter is at the "drunken sailor" stage but most are finding their feet. I am starting to see different personalities in each puppy. As I said before this time will go quickly and I am starting to think about how to set up the puppy pen for two litters.

ECLAT'S PUPPIES ARE ALMOST TOO BIG FOR THE SCALE

GROWING AND GROWING

The Brighthope puppies seem like they are growing and changing daily. With only 8 days difference between the two litters the development is evident.
Eclat litter has eyes all open and are trying their best to walk. They are responding to sounds and are starting to interact with each other.
Arine's litter is a week old and growing quickly.

ENJOYING SOME SUNSHINE

LUNCH ON THE PATIO

DON'T WORRY I'M NOT THE ONLY CUTE ONE

S'MORE PUPPIES

Brighthope is busy. Arine decided that April 22nd was a great day to bring her babies into the world. We now have a litter of 3 females and 3 males. This is Arine's first litter and she is proving once again that our Blues love to be moms.

Arine looking a bit tired

YES ARINE, WE TAKE LOTS OF PUPPY PICTURES

ECLAT AND HER GROWING KIDS, SHE GOT THE NEW WHELPING BOX !!

So all total we have 11 puppies here at Brighthope. We have freed up the calendar and will be staying put for the next couple of months. Well worth though, we are proud of our Brighthope Blues.

On a side note Arine's litter was duel sired by Ciron and Dapper. This litter will be DNA tested..............Who's your daddy !!!

ECLAT AND DAPPER MAKE LOVELY BABIES

So I have not been very good about posting on this blog over the winter, but with springtime and puppies here I will "try" my best to keep everyone updated.
Once again Eclat and Dapper have produced a fine group of puppies for us. Born on April 14th, we have 3 females and 2 males. Eclat as always, is a great mom and Dapper..... well.....Dapper doesn't even know yet. We'll let him know when it comes time for "babysitting" !!!

VERY PROTECTIVE OF HER KIDS

HOW SWEET IS THIS

Stay tuned litter number 2 is due next week. A first for Brighthope having 2 litters together. So looking forward to watching all these guys develop. Lots of morning coffees sitting beside Moms and babies.

JACK AND JOURNEY

We were so pleased when we learned that Journey (a Suede/Nola puppy from 2009) had become a Therapy Dog. We had the pleasure of meeting and dining with Jack and Jeanne when they made the trip to Canada to pickup Journey.

JACK & JOURNEY IN THEIR "UNIFORM"

Jeanne writes: I am letting you know that Journey and Jack were certified as a therapy dog team by K-Pets (Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services). They went through 10 weeks of instruction before being certified. As part of the training, Journey also passed the AKC Canine Good Citizenship test. They enjoy visiting a nursing home, assisted living facility, freshmen students at a local college, the library, and a facility for developmentally challenged adults. They have recently applied to a local hospital for their acceptance for therapy dog services. Journey is a good ambassador for the Blue Picardy Spaniel in this part of the USA. We always have wonderful things to say about the breed.

Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful news. Yea, I am a proud breeder.
